vivo V80 Review: Is It Worth ₹62,999 in India? Specs, Price and Value
Our specs-and-value vivo V80 review: a 7,200mAh battery, 50MP telephoto and IP68/IP69 make it appealing, but ₹62,999 buys dated RAM and storage. Here is who should buy it.
Image: TeQBlogs
The vivo V80 is a camera-and-battery phone: it pairs a 50MP ZEISS telephoto, a 7,200mAh battery and IP68/IP69 protection with a mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip. In this vivo V80 review we look at whether it is worth its ₹62,999 starting price in India. It makes sense if zoom photos and battery life matter more to you than raw speed, but the memory and storage specs are dated for the price.
Important: TeQBlogs has not tested the vivo V80 in hand. This is a specs-and-value review based on vivo’s official specification sheet and vivo India’s online store prices at the time of writing. We have not measured battery life, camera quality, heat or performance.

vivo V80 price in India and offers
The vivo V80 costs ₹62,999 for 8GB+128GB, ₹69,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹79,999 for 8GB+512GB on vivo India’s online store at the time of writing. The store lists much higher MRPs (₹1,11,999 for the base model), so judge the phone on the selling price, not the “discount”.

The store was also showing bank-card instant discounts (up to ₹6,300 on the base model), an exchange bonus and no-cost EMI. Offers change often, so check the final price at checkout.
Design and durability
At 7.69mm and 203g, the V80 is slim for a phone with a 7,200mAh battery. The bigger selling point is IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance; IP69 is the rating for resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. vivo also includes a phone case in the box.
Display
The 6.59-inch AMOLED panel has a 2750 × 1260 resolution and refreshes at up to 144Hz. vivo claims 5,000 nits of local peak brightness, which is a lab peak for small areas, not everyday full-screen brightness. On paper this is a strong display for videos and outdoor use.
Performance
This is where the V80 is weakest for its price. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is a capable mid-range chip, fine for social media, streaming, photography and casual games. However, every variant has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, an older generation than many phones in the ₹60,000–₹80,000 range. There is no microSD slot, and the USB-C port runs at USB 2.0 speeds, so copying large 4K videos to a computer by cable will be slow.
If you want the fastest phone for this money, look at alternatives. If you mainly use WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube and the camera, the V80 should be enough.
Cameras
The camera hardware is the V80’s main attraction:
- 50MP main camera with Sony’s LYTIA 700V sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS)
- 50MP “Night Telephoto” with a Sony IMX882 sensor and OIS, useful for portraits, stage shows and zoomed shots
- 8MP wide-angle, the weakest of the three on paper
- 50MP autofocus selfie camera with a 92° field of view for group selfies
vivo also lists AI features such as AI Erase, AI Image Expander, AI Best Face and an AI Creative Camera with 30+ modes. We cannot comment on real-world photo quality without testing.
Battery and charging
A 7,200mAh (typical) battery is very large for a 7.69mm phone, and vivo calls it the biggest battery in its V-series. With 90W FlashCharge, vivo says the phone reaches 50% in about 30 minutes in fast-charging mode. vivo’s spec sheet lists a USB power adapter in the box.
Software and updates
The V80 runs OriginOS 7 on Android 17. vivo promises up to 6 years of extended security updates, but its footnote says the period is counted from the phone’s first global launch date and may vary by market. vivo’s product page does not state how many Android version upgrades the phone will get.

Its weak spot is value for performance: ₹62,999 buys only 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 3.1 storage and a mid-range chip. If the camera and battery are your priorities, it is worth a look, ideally with a bank offer. If speed matters most, compare it with the alternatives above before you buy.
